Get your classes ready to compete in the first edition of Persona Hispana del Año!
The winning class will receive a prize and be recognized on Bablingua21.

You can submit your class predictions from March 2–8.

February 24–March 8
Teachers may submit one bracket per class with their predictions.
The submission form is now open!

A Google form to predict the Hispanic Person of the Year

March 9–10 | Round of 16
Students vote in each of the 8 matchups via FlippedSpanish or this Google Form you can share with them.

March 11
Quarterfinalists are announced.

March 12–13 | Quarterfinals
Students vote in each of the 4 matchups.

March 15
Semifinalists are announced.

March 16–17 | Semifinals
Students vote to choose the finalists.

March 18
Finalists are announced.

March 19–20 | Final
Students vote to choose La Persona Hispana del Año.

March 23–27
La Persona Hispana del Año and the winning class/school are announced.

How Bracket Predictions Are Scored

Teachers and students can earn points for accurate predictions in the Persona Hispana del Año contest:

Round 1: 1 point for each correct winner (8 points max)
Semifinals: 2 points for each correct winner (8 points max)
Finals: 1 point for each correct winner (2 points max)
Champion: 2 points for correctly predicting the overall winner
Bonus: 1 extra point if you post a photo of your classroom bracket on our Facebook group

Total possible points: 21

Tie-break rules:

If two or more teachers have the same top score, the class that submitted the best photo of their bracket on Facebook will win.
If there’s a tie among classes without a photo, the winner will be selected randomly.
