La Persona Hispana del Año lets you introduce 16 inspiring Hispanic champions who are making a difference today, and gives your students the chance to predict and vote for the winner during our “Marzo loco.”

2026
July 27
Rodri is the first nominee of the 2026/27 edition following his outstanding World Cup campaign with Spain.
The contest officially begins on 1 September, when we'll introduce Rodri and the contest to your students on Bablingua21.
For now, explore this sample to see the type of worksheets you'll receive for each nominee:
September 1
Bablingua21 starts, with a free program with information about the contest and the first nominee.
September 2026 - February 2027
The 16 nominees will be presented on Bablingua21 as Hispanic champions achieve new goals.
2027
February 23–March 7
Teachers may submit one bracket per class with their predictions.
The submission form will be published here.
March 8–9| Round of 16
Students vote in each of the 8 matchups.
March 10
Quarterfinalists are announced.
March 11–12 | Quarterfinals
Students vote in each of the 4 matchups.
March 14
Semifinalists are announced.
March 15–16 | Semifinals
Students vote to choose the finalists.
March 17
Finalists are announced.
March 18–19 | Final
Students vote to choose La Persona Hispana del Año.
March 24
La Persona Hispana del Año and the winning class/school are announced.
How Bracket Predictions Are Scored
Teachers and students can earn points for accurate predictions in the Persona Hispana del Año contest:

Round 1: 1 point for each correct winner (8 points max)

Semifinals: 2 points for each correct winner (8 points max)

Finals: 1 point for each correct winner (2 points max)

Champion: 2 points for correctly predicting the overall winner

Bonus: 1 extra point if you post a photo of your classroom bracket on our Facebook group
Total possible points: 21
Tie-break rules:
-
If two or more teachers have the same top score, the class that submitted the best photo of their bracket on Facebook will win.
-
If there’s a tie among classes without a photo, the winner will be selected randomly.

Hi we submitted brackets, but never received any information on how to vote in the first round. Is this thing still happening?
Hola Michael. We’re posting all the information on this website and on our FB group.
You’ll see the link to vote in the next round (quarter finals) on both sites, and FlippedSpanish, from Thursday (12th March) to Friday (13th March). Students can vote on any of those days, and the results will be posted here on Monday with a new link to vote in the semifinals.
